Mark Cuban: DOGE will rise to 1 US dollar
„If we sell Mavs merchandise worth another 6,556,000,000 DOGE, Dogecoin will definitely reach US$1,“ the Dallas Mavericks owner said.
For the past three days, the Dallas Mavericks have been accepting Dogecoin (DOGE) as a form of payment. The team’s owner Mark Cuban now predicted that the token will eventually rise to US$1.
In a tweet on Saturday, Cuban said customers had spent over 20,000 Dogecoin (currently US$1,018) on purchases from the Dallas Mavericks. He claimed of Bitcoin Trader the franchise was now „the largest Dogecoin retailer in the world“. The billionaire predicted that the token’s price would „definitely reach US$1“ when basketball fans buy $6,556,000,000 worth of Mavericks merchandise.
The @dallasmavs have done more than 20,000 #Dogecoin in transactions, making us the LARGEST #DOGECOIN MERCHANT IN THE WORLD ! We thank all of you and can only say that if we sell another 6,556,000,000 #DOGECOIN worth of Mavs merch, #dogecoin will DEFINITELY HIT $1 !!!!

The Mavericks were one of the first NBA franchises to accept crypto as payment for tickets and merchandise
Two years ago, Bitcoin (BTC) was also already accepted through wallet company BitPay. Mavericks fans can also pay for clothing and souvenirs with Bitcoin Cash (BCH), USD Coin (USDC), Gemini Dollar (GUSD), Paxos Standard (PAX) and Binance USD (BUSD).
Although Dogecoin was intended as a joke currency, it has risen in the last few months because DOGE has been mentioned on social media by billionaires such as Cuban and Tesla CEO Elon Musk. Musk’s tweets have likely helped the token’s price rise from US$0.01 in January to an all-time high of US$0.078. At the time of going to press, DOGE was at US$0.0509. That means the token would have to rise 1,864 per cent to reach US$1.
The owner of the Dallas Mavericks said of DOGE that it is an „economic teaching tool“. The token is the „best entertainment money can buy“ in the crypto market, he said. Although there are more and more DOGE payments at the basketball franchise, Cuban said he is still „having fun“ and has not changed his mind about the token.
